Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to post once more before Christmas. We truly pray you will all do as Abby Kate is doing in the first picture and look up this Christmas. Our Pastor a couple of weeks ago talked about how Christmas is one of two times a year that the supernatural world collided. We pray you will all put JESUS in the center of your holidays and that your time with your families will be blessed. We love you all!

She knows the GOOD stuff!

I promise I washed this out first! I am simply addicted to Sonic's Diet Cokes. They are the highlight of any day I can afford one. My husband thinks it is a huge waste of money but what does he know....he has about 50 knives....
Well, we have a walker! She took about 7 steps today. She is still a little shaky but is doing it!

I am the best present EVER!

This child never ceases to crack me up. She just keeps getting funnier and chatty-er (I know this is not a word :)) but thought I would share these fun pics. She has been taking steps these past few days so we may have a walker soon!

My First Birthday

Well, our precious girl is now one! We had such a fun birthday with our families this weekend. She got tons of fun presents and ADORED the attention. I was shocked at how much she loved everyone looking at her! I did a montage for her birthday and would love for you all to see it if you have 7 minutes to spare. Thank you all for checking this blog and watching her grow. We have LOVED this first year and here is to many more....

I'm One!

I will have many more pictures after tomorrow. We are having a small family birthday party and I will post the 12 month update and pics as well. However, yesterday, her true birthday was so fun! We sang Happy Birthday when we went in to get her up and she just jumped up and down and "sang" along. We had pancakes for breakfast (a first for her) and she gobbled them right up! We had a pretty low key day, stayed in our pjs and just played (it was about 21 degrees here yesterday). We put on Christmas music and danced and danced. This child LOVES to dance (it is hysterical). Anyway, I was changing her diaper and said "Abby Kate, are you one?" and she held up one finger. I thought it was a fluke but then asked her 3 other times and she did it again. I finally got it on video (sort of)...she got really excited and jumped up and down so you can't see the one finger too well but it is on her left hand. Thought I would post it anyway. Love you all and thanks for all the birthday wishes for her! http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i311/snqualls/?action=view&current=DSCN0891.flv

Making her first snow angel!

Playing in the snow!

Watching Veggie Tales

People do not believe me when I tell them how much this child loves music, namely Silly Songs with Larry from Veggie Tales. This was her watching it on Sweetie and Poppy's bed. This same night, we also got to see 10 deer at the corn feeder outside their bedroom window! SO NEAT!

Diamonds (or at least jewelry) are a Girls Best Friend...

Getting into Momma's jewelry...she lunges for ANYONE that has jewelry on...it is quite embarassing in the Post Office...she threw her first real fit, yes with the kicking her legs and screaming, when I took her off the counter.  Posted by Picasa

Yummy!

We gave Abby Kate a biter biscuit tonight and she just kept biting off huge pieces with her new teeth. It got so gross and we were just cracking up which got her tickled...Bobby kept saying she looked like she was chewing tobacco.  Posted by Picasa

Horsing Around

We got to spend the weekend in Ozark and had SO much fun! Bobby played the bucking horse that Kourtney (our niece) has always loved and Abby Kate got in on the fun this time! *Check out sweet Kourtney holding onto AK's back to keep her on....she was that thoughtful all weekend! Isn't AK blessed? She will LOVE having her as a big cousin.... Posted by Picasa

11 months!

Holy Moly....we are one month away from a birthday! This year has FLOWN! It seems lots has happened this month. Quite frankly, I am daily watching my baby morph into this precocious, funny, observant little girl. It is crazy. I drove by an elementary school yesterday and my heart constricted thinking it will be tomorrow and she will be going off to school. I am learning to TREASURE this season. If I could skip the baby phase (I truly and simply do NOT do well with no sleep) and they would be born at this age, I would have 20. So onto our month... she now has 6 teeth which all seemed to come in at once. She is talking up a storm and actually making sense. As you all saw in her video, she is obsessed with birds and says bird every chance she gets. She flaps her wings wildly and gestures saying "BIRD, BIRD!" for all to hear (now before you get any ideas...she (ie: us) do NOT want a bird for her birthday. I promise I will kill you if you try it). She is appropriately saying Mama and Dada to identify Bobby and I. She says BaBa for bye bye and waves but usually delayed (like once we get around the corner from whoever we are leaving...I think just to spite me and stifle others opinion of her brilliance). And this is a true story, I went into her room this past Saturday morning to get her up and I had on gold dangle earrings and she started touching them saying "pity Mama, pity Mama..." I promise. I really think she was saying "pretty." Fun fun. She also has started refusing baby food, only wanting the good stuff. She is a champion eater, just like her Dad and I and begs any time we are eating. She really is worse than our dogs. She got to try her Sweetie's Chicken and Dumplings and truly devoured them (as any normal person would). As I mentioned before, she LOVES bread. I mean anything with flour. Seriously. She loves her whole wheat bagels with turkey and cheese for lunch. She can eat a half of a bagel all by herself. I am paranoid she is eating too much so you nutrition experts out there shout at me if I am creating an obese child through this! She also still loves fruit. The veggies have taken a backseat but I still make her eat them (and in true inheirited drama fashion, she gags and gags until she swallows).
She also really is funny. I had a large cardboard box from Sam's that I let her play with and she kept trying to pull up with it and it kept moving. She tried and tried and then finally just looked at me and put her hands out and SHRUGGED! I promise. I about died. She also LOVES mimicking. I can make noises and she will mimic them back to me all day. She has a really great laugh and will giggle and giggle while we do this. She still LOVES music. I am convinced she will be the next musical prodigy and not just because I am her Mom. It is insane how much she loves music. We got her a Silly Songs with Larry dvd that is 48 minutes long and she will sit still as a pole for the WHOLE video. She bounces and tries to sing. For a while, even when there was no music playing, she would bounce and "sing" and clap and it took me a while to realize she WAS trying to sing. I need to capture that on video....
All that to say, this 11 month old is growing up fast. We truly delight in her. She brings such joy every day and we are SO thankful God entrusted her to us. Posted by Picasa

Time for a pillow?

This child more often than not uses her bumper pad as a pillow. I know it is time to take them out of her crib but they are useful so they stay for now.  Posted by Picasa

More Blanket....

Peek a Boo!

Abby Kate LOVES this fur blanket. She rubs her face in it and just loves to be covered up with it (only to throw it off of her...) Posted by Picasa
